Welcome to Dapper Dog Jackets NZ!

I’m Annette Spence—the owner, designer, and maker behind Dapper Dog Jackets.
About five years ago, while living on Waiheke Island, I realized how difficult it was to find
well-fitting, comfortable dog jackets for breeds of all shapes and sizes. Living on an island
made sourcing good gear even harder!

Having spent 11 years as a puppy walker for Guide Dogs, I gained a deep understanding of
how dogs bodies change over time and how jackets should fit to keep them comfortable.

After retiring from puppy walking, I adopted Tyni, a beautiful teacup Chihuahua. As any
Chihuahua owner knows, they bring their own unique charm and challenges! Finding a jacket small enough for such a tiny dog proved almost impossible... and so, Dapper Dog Jackets NZ was born.

Today, my business has grown to cater to dogs of all breeds, both large and small.
Every Dapper Dog jacket is designed with your dog’s comfort in mind. I use only soft fabrics and attach all fastenings carefully so nothing ever scratches their skin.

I have since moved to Orewa, where I craft every single jacket in my cozy home workroom.
